Strachină miniaturală pictată de la Iabloana / Miniature painted plate, Cucuteni-Tripolie Culture

Strachina are forma tronconică, cu marginea buzei rotunjită. Sub buză este o găurică, probabil pentru suspendare. Este modelată din pastă de lut fină, pictată cu negru-brun pe un slip de culoare alb-gălbui şi arsă oxidant. Decorul în interiorul străchinii constă dintr-un motiv cruciform, format din benzi de linii groase şi înguste, iar în spaţiile între braţele crucii sunt amplasate câte o pată ovală. La exterior, are un decor din benzi liniare arcuite şi două ove mari, dispuse simetric, decorate la fel ca şi spaţiile libere din interiorul străchinii, cu pete.

Dimensiunile piesei: H=2,1 cm; D max.=6,5 cm.

Destinaţia străchinii miniaturale pare a fi mai degrabă rituală, decât cea uzuală. În locuinţele, sanctuarele sau complexele rituale din aşezările culturii Cucuteni, vasele mici (boluri, străchini, cupe) sunt adeseori descoperite în seturi, compuse din şase sau, uneori, din şapte piese. Acestea corespund, probabil, numărului zilelor săptămânii ori numărului zeităţilor panteonului cucutenian.

Strachina miniaturală este găsită într-o aşezare a culturii Cucuteni, descoperită lângă satul Iabloana, raionul Glodeni. Aparţine culturii Cucuteni, epoca eneolitică, datată cu 4100-3900 a. Chr.

The bowl has truncated conical shape, with a rounded edge. Below the edge there is a hole, probably for hanging. It was made of fine clay paste, painted in black-brown on a yellowish slip and burned. The decor inside the bowl represents a cross-shaped motif consisting of strips of thick and narrow lines; in the spaces between the “bars” of the cross there are oval spots. On the external side there is a pattern of curved bands and two large symmetrically disposed egg-shaped ornamental motifs decorated like free spaces on the inner side a bowl – with oval spots.

Dimensions of the bowl: H = 2.1 cm; D max. = 6.5 cm.

The bowl was more likely intended for ritual than for household needs. In homes, shrines and ritual complexes of the Cucuteni settlements, small vessels (bowls, cups) are often found in sets consisting of six or sometimes seven pieces. Their number may correspond to the number of patron deities of the days of a week or to the number of the deities of the Cucuteni pantheon.

The miniature bowl was found in a Cucuteni settlement discovered near the village of Iabloana, Glodeni District. It belongs to the Cucuteni culture of the Chalcolithic period dated to 4100 – 3900 BC.
