Vas zoomorf de la Olăneşti, datat cu a doua jumătate a sec. I - prima jumătate a sec . II p. Chr. Reprezintă un recipient, executat din lut ars, în formă de berbec cu picioarele strânse sub corp, fixat pe un postament rectangular. Blana este redată realist prin bucle, la fel de realist este executat şi capul animalului. Gâtul vasului se află de asupra capului berbecului. De la ceafă porneşte toarta vasului, care în partea inferioară se uneşte cu spatele. Vasul este acoperit cu firnis (lac) roşiatic.
A fost descoperit, alături de alte obiecte de ofrandă, într-un mormânt sarmatic de lângă satul Olăneşti, raionul Ştefan-Vodă, în anul 1960, de cercetătoarea A.I. Meljiukova. Recipiente de acest fel, reprezentând acelaşi chip al berbecului, au mai fost descoperite în arealul de răspândire a culturii sarmaţilor din Caucaz până în Ungaria.
Zoomorphic vessel from Olăneşti, dated with the second half of 1st century – first half of 2nd century AD. It represents a vessel made of burned clay with the shape of a ram sheep with feet gathered close under the body sitting on a rectangular pedestal. The fur is depicted with curls in a realistic manner as is executed the head of the animal. The neck of the vessel is placed on top of the ram sheep head. The handle starts at the nape and connects in the inferior part with the back. The vessel is covered with reddish varnish.
It was discovered with other objects of sacrifice in a Sarmatian tomb near Olăneşti village, Ştefan-Vodă raion, in 1960, by researcher A.I. Meljiukova.Similar pots with the same representation of the ram sheep were discovered in the living area of Sarmatian culture from the Caucasus up to Hungary.
